about

This is the man - and the band - that convinced me as a high school freshman that I could - and should - become a professional musician! Frank B. Wickes and The Fort Hunt High School Band were extraordinary, and the powers that be in Washington DC knew it. This interview, broadcast worldwide in 1971, helped the band raise funds to compete for and win the Prize of the City of Vienna, Austria in 1972 (when I was in beginning band). What an inspiration.
